Cory and Shari Foltz filed a wrongful death lawsuit against BGSU in June 2022 on behalf of their son.
Greek organizations on campus were involved in hazing practices, but the school did nothing to stop them, according to them. However, other Pi Alpha Kappa members were jailed for up to six weeks after being charged with Foltz’s death, even though they were found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide.

Wood County Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman passed sentences on Thursday for the five ex-Pi Kappa Alpha International fraternity brothers, who had been convicted of hazing Stone Foltz at Bowling Green State University.
Daylen Dunson, 22, of Cleveland, had entered pleas of guilty to eight misdemeanors – hazing, underage alcohol violations and obstructing official business – along with three third degree felonies: reckless homicide, tampering with evidence and obstructing justice. He was the president of PIKE’s Bowling Green chapter.

In early 2021, Foltz—a 20-year-old sophomore from Delaware, Ohio—entered the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. As part of the pledge procedure, he took part in a “Big Little Night” initiation ceremony on March 4 and reportedly consumed a liter of Evan Williams bourbon. Sadly, Foltz passed away from alcohol poisoning days later.
Cory Foltz – his father – emotionally urged the judge to hand down the severest punishment permissible under Ohio law when addressing the court. Responding to this tragedy, Pi Kappa Alpha chose to suspend recruitment at every chapter for Spring 2021 and also revoked the charter of Delta Beta Chapter and expelled its members.
Stone Foltz Crimes & Charges
In May 2022, Troy Henricksen and Jacob Krinn were brought to court following Foltz’s passing. After a trial, Krinn was convicted of hazing, provision of alcohol to an underage person and derailing justice proceedings.
Additionally, Henricksen was found culpable of seven counts of giving liquor to a minor and eight counts of hazing. Nevertheless, the most grave accusations implicating the ex-fraternity members in relation to Foltz’s death were dropped.
