In case you missed it, a maniac with a large knife stabbed eight people in Las Vegas this week, two of them fatally. Descriptions of the attack by witnesses didn’t suggest any sort of animus leading up to the killings and the entire encounter initially appeared to be random in nature. Yoni Barrios was quickly taken into custody and is currently being held without bail on two charges of murder and six charges of attempted murder. (One minor bright spot in this horrible story is that there are apparently still at least a few things left where suspects can be held without bail.) When more news about the suspect was released, another dark element to the story emerged. Barrios, a Guatemalan national, was in the country illegally. And for the icing on the cake, ICE confirmed that he already had a criminal record in California prior to his jaunt to Sin City. (NY Post)

The man charged with fatally stabbing two people and wounding six others during a crazed rampage on the Las Vegas strip was in the United States illegally and has a criminal record, according to a report.

The 32-year-old alleged attacker, Yoni Barrios, is a Guatemalan national with a criminal record in California, a source with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to Fox News.

Barrios was charged with two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and six counts of attempted murder in the senseless broad-daylight attack.

According to the witnesses, Barrios initially asked a group of showgirls dressed in their costumes to take a picture with him while he posed holding a large knife. Understandably, the women declined and attempted to move away. This reportedly enraged Barrios, who would later claim that they were “laughing at him and making fun of his clothing.” That was apparently all of the “provocation” the illegal alien required to begin stabbing people in broad daylight.

As the Biden border crisis grinds on, we are routinely lectured by our liberal betters about how it is racist to ask for our immigration laws to be enforced and to “turn away” people who are just seeking a better life in America. Here’s a side note for both the government of Guatemala and the American open-border advocates who say such things. Yoni Barrios is not the sort of “great unwashed masses” we had in mind.

So not only did Barrios make his way across the border illegally, but he had time to run up a criminal record in California prior to this mass stabbing attack. Are we to believe that nobody in the California legal system was able to detect the fact that he was in the country illegally and seek to deport him? Apparently so. But if they had, there is at least a chance that Brent Allan Hallett and Maris Mareen DiGiovanni might still be alive today.

This is far from the only example of this type of horror show that we’ve witnessed in recent months. In July, a previously deported illegal alien in Alabama murdered and dismembered a 29-year-old mother and her 14-year-old son and left their bodies decomposing in a trailer for a week. The woman’s 12-year-old daughter was bound and held captive there until she chewed her way through her restraints and escaped.

On August 1, 2022 Jose Paulino Pascual Reyes, 37, was charged with murdering his girlfriend Sandra Vazquez Ceja, 29, and her 14-year-old son in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Sandra’s 12-year-old daughter was tied up, but she escaped. Jose was Sandra’s live in boyfriend, he was an illegal immigrant.

Sandra and her two children moved in with Jose in February 2022. Jose had already been deported from the United States in years prior, but he came back shortly afterwards.

On July 24, 2022 Sandra and her 14-year-old son were brutally murdered in a trailer park home that they lived in with Jose.

The crisis on the southern border is not just a matter of people seeking asylum and not finding shelter or resources to help them. It’s physically impossible to vet the millions of people streaming into the country and weed out even just the worst ones who have prior records. How many more people like these murderous maniacs have made it through the system and been shipped off to every state in the nation? When will the next horror story like this take place and how will we be able to hold accountable the open-borders advocates who are making all of this possible?

There’s an old saying that both parties have employed with varying degrees of effectiveness in the run-up to every election. Vote like your life depends on it. Because it just might.
