American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten has been a leading voice in the movement to make public schools as useful as a pile of rubble, so it is appropriate that she has flown to Ukraine to inspect the damage that Russia has caused to Ukraine’s public infrastructure. Perhaps she is looking for tips on how to do even more damage to children’s futures?
Woke up this am to reports of disgusting Russian missile strikes in Kyiv, Lviv & other cities.Heading to the border now to assess the situation. This Russian attempt to frighten civilians & the effect on children (who are learning online today) is why this 🇺🇦 trip is so important https://t.co/dUVOxsdwRQ

WTF is a teachers’ union hack doing in Ukraine, especially at a time when even public school advocates are forced to admit that students are in deep trouble due to the damage done to them during the COVID panic?
Who knows? Ukraine has become the tourist spot for politicians and celebrities who feel the need to up their Q-score.
“Woke up this am to reports of disgusting Russian missile strikes in Kyiv, Lviv & other cities,” Weingarten tweeted Monday morning. “Heading to the border now to assess the situation. This Russian attempt to frighten civilians & the effect on children (who are learning online today) is why this [Ukraine flag emoji] trip is so important.”
Weingarten is joining pediatrician and public health activist Dr. Irwin Redlener, Karen Redlener and Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum in Ukraine this week to meet with Ukrainian students and teachers displaced by the war. The group went “to offer solidarity and support in the face of relentless attacks that have forced hundreds of thousands of refugees to flee the country’s east,” according to a press release from the AFT.
“The AFT was invited by the Ukrainian teachers union, the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers, to bear witness and call attention to the effects on children, families and educators and the impact of Russia’s attacks on democracy and democratic institutions,” the press release explained.
Randi Weingarten has done about as much damage to public schools as any single person could. She fought against reopening schools, she fought for vaccine and mask mandates that kept countless children and teachers out of schools, and as any Leftist must these days she has led the charge to sexualize children and indoctrinate them in the worst ideologies imaginable. She is a horrible person. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that she has a pentagram surrounded by candles set up in her back yard. Her policy prescriptions have amounted to a kind of ritual sacrifice of children’s futures.
Ironically, in the midst of a war Ukrainian children are still having in person classroom education, often under difficult conditions:

Kids are getting a better education under wartime conditions in Ukraine than Randi Weingarten, union hack, would allow them to get in the United States during a pandemic that endangered students less than substance abuse–something that skyrocketed during COVID.
One good thing about Weingarten’s trip to Ukraine is the epic ratio she is suffering for her virtue signaling. Twitter has lit up with people taking well deserved potshots at her:
Randi Weingarten is the worst thing to happen to American children since POLIO.
How dare she try to pretend she cares about the children of Ukraine?!🤬

I’m not trying to be mean, but what business could Randi Weingarten possibly have in Ukraine right now? Is she going there to impart wisdom to the country’s teachers?

In Ukraine, kids got stuck with extended remote learning because of an actual war.
In America kids got stuck with extended remote learning because of Randi Weingarten. https://t.co/w3bcMHwvOv

We are dealing with a world historic epidemic of learning loss and completely broken public school system, and Randi Weingarten is visiting Ukraine. Really said everything you need to know about this moment. https://t.co/iTqzXbaloK

Of course our dear friend Randi is immune to criticism, and has shown an amazing ability to resist learning from her mistake, so I hope and expect to see a series of social media posts where she signals her compassion for Ukrainian children, completely unaware of how ridiculous she looks.
At least I hope so. She deserves all the ridicule the Internet can heap on her.
