SINCE the 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom franchise kicked off in 2009, several cast members have died.
Let’s look at the fallen reality stars, including Autumn Crittendon, who is the latest 16 and Pregnant alum to die.
Autumn Crittendon
Autumn’s sister, Misty, shared via Facebook that the reality star died on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
“To my dearest baby sister, my twin, my rock, my babies mother, my go to, my world, the only one who got me and most of my childhood trauma, who endured it all with me, my Arnold,” Misty wrote in a since-deleted post.
“I love you more than words can even come close. Rest Easy my beautiful angel, but seriously, don’t rest, come back.”
Autumn suffered previous health problems and was found unconscious in her bedroom in Henrico County, Virginia, according to TMZ.
While authorities are still investigating her death, sources told the outlet that Autumn complained of heartburn in the moments leading up to her death.
The insiders also claimed she was diabetic and had kidney issues.
Autumn was only 27 years old.
Autumn was famous for her appearance on Season 5 of 16 and Pregnant.
At the time, she was navigating motherhood to her son Drake, whom she shared with her ex-boyfriend, Dustin Franklin.
After the show, Autumn welcomed two additional kids named Luke and Abigail.
Fans have expressed their dismay, calling her death “tragic” and “just sad all around.”
Derek Underwood
In 2008, Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham’s baby daddy, Derek Underwood, died at 18 years old.
Derek was killed in a car accident in 2008.
He allegedly lost control of his car. In addition to Derek, Zachary Mendoza, who was sitting in the passenger seat, also lost his life.
At his time of death, Farrah had just welcomed their daughter Sophia two months prior.
In 2022, Farrah shared a TikTok of her and Sophia going to visit Derek’s grave during Mother’s Day.
The Teen Mom star wrote, “My Mother’s Day is always made visiting the man who made me a mom. God is great!”
Sean Garinger
On February 28, 2024, 16 and Pregnant star Selena Gutierrez’s ex, Sean Garinger, died at 20 years old.
Sean’s mother, Mary Hobbs, told The U.S. Sun that Sean died in a tragic ATV accident.
“I was with him when it happened. He was just moving [the ATV] from one parking spot to the next for me, so I could back into park,” she recalled.
“He pulled [in] front of me to park the ATV and the ground gave way from all the rain and mud.”
She revealed the ATV “crushed” his skull.
Mary remembered Sean as “my only son, my rock, my strength when I had none left.”
She continued, “Sean brightened my world in a way no one else could ever come close to. He was my baby boy, my squishy, my heartbeat.”
Sean and Selena shared two kids, Dareli and Esmi. The two appeared on Season 6 of 16 and Pregnant.
Following his death, Selena broke her silence, saying she wished they could “have one more good conversation about everything,” per the Daily Mail.
She also said at the time, the two weren’t on speaking terms; however, Sean was “over 200 days sober” and visited his daughters a week before his death.
“The girls loved him,” she said. “He was planning to come back and see them on his own.”
Taylor Lewis
Taylor Lewis, who was famously known as Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans’ best friend, died on January 5, 2023.
According to the autopsy report exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, Taylor died from an accidental overdose.
She was only 29 years old.
She was reportedly found unresponsive in a hotel room by her friend, who was also present.
The report details to have found “acute fentanyl and oxycodone” in her system.
Though her death was ruled an accident, a note was reportedly found that stated, “What are the chances of y’all getting out of this hotel without paying me the $200 you took from me! Karma is a b***h!”
The report continued, “Investigation by law enforcement determined that the note may have been older and possibly even written by the decedent.
“Law enforcement found no evidence to support foul play.”
Taylor is survived by her daughter, Jordan Ashlee Nikole Lewis, whom she shared with her baby daddy, Courtland Rogers.
Valerie Fairman
In 2016, 16 and Pregnant star Valerie Fairman was found dead at 23 from an apparent overdose.
Valerie was at a friend’s house in the Philadelphia suburb of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, when her friend called out for the reality star, according to TMZ.
However, Valerie didn’t respond, and when her friend broke down the door, the 23-year-old was found unresponsive.
Valerie was famously known for appearing on Season 2 of the hit show.
She is survived by her daughter, Nevaeh Lynn.
16 & Pregnant Franchise
The first season of 16 & Pregnant premiered on June 11, 2009. Since it’s premiere, the show has received multiple spinoffs.

In 2018, Valerie’s mom, Janice Fairman, told Radar, “Navaeh is very well.
“I don’t think it’s been hard for her. I don’t know if it will be in the coming years.
“She’s doing well in school. I took her to a fried counselor, which she didn’t need.”
She also revealed that Nevaeh keeps Valerie close to her heart as she “has a necklace with some of her ashes.”
Jordan Cashmyer
On January 16, 2022, 16 and Pregnant star Jordan Cashmyer died at 26 years old.
Similarly to Valerie, Jordan was found dead from an undetermined overdose.
Jordan had fentanyl, despropionyl fentanyl and cocaine in her system, according to US Weekly.
Her rep, Howard Wood, confirmed her death saying, “The last time I spoke with Jordan, she sounded happy and healthy.
“I wish people had the opportunity to know her away from her struggles as she was a very sweet and kind-hearted person.
“I’m grateful I had the chance to know and work with her all these years. Life was not always good to her and I hope now she is in a better place. RIP sweet girl.”
Her father, Dennis Cashmyer Jr. broke his silence, saying, “Last night I received a call no parent ever wants.
“My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old.
“Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER.”
Jordan, who appeared on Season 5 of 16 and Pregnant, is survived by her daughters, Genevieve and Lyla.
Michael Schaffer, the father of Lyla, died months before Jordan for the same reason.
Lane Fernandez
Teen Mom star Malorie Beaver’s baby daddy, Lane Fernandez, died in June 2022 at 28 years old.
Lane was known for welcoming his daughter, Emerson, with Malorie during two seasons of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant.
While he died two years ago, his cause of death has not been revealed.
In addition to Emerson, Lane welcomed a son, Nolyn, with his wife, Kylee Rose Fernandez, just three weeks before his death.
“I’m so lost without you babe… I love you to the moon and back and I know you’re watching out for us. I will forever miss you. It’s always been you,” Kylee wrote on Facebook at his time of death.
“Nolyn, Emerson, and I love you so much and you were an amazing father, dog dad, and husband.
“You’ll forever be my rock, and my best friend. I miss you more than anything baby.”
