Career

Prior to becoming a successful TV personality, Jansing worked as an intern at a cable station located in Columbus, Ohio, and went on to work at radio station WIPS, located in Ticonderoga, New York. After that, she served as a general assignment reporter for WNYT, all the while making a name for herself and slowly but surely rising up to the next level, becoming a weekend anchor and co-anchor. Jansing ultimately spent 17 years working for the station, and during her time there, as her talent and efforts were recognized, she was rewarded with a New York Emmy Award, for her coverage of the Olympic Park Bombing in Atlanta.

Career on TV

Moving to the next chapter of her career, Chris joined NBC, and made her debut as the hostess of “America’s Astronauts: Mercury to Apollo to Today” in 2005 and in the same year, she joined the cast of “The Ethical Edge”, ultimately appearing in nine episodes of the series over the course of the next year. As of 2006, she began working as a reporter and hostess of “MSNBC Live”, opposite people such as Raul A. Reyes, Hallie Jackson, Kristen Welker and Kasie Hunt.  In 2008, Chris spread herself to be involved in two major projects, “Weekend Today” and “Today”. As of 2012, she began hosting the series entitled “Jansing & Co.”, which had 56 episodes over the course of three years, airing on weekdays at 10am, at the beginning of MSNBC’s daytime news coverage, and meantime appearing in “Now With Alex Wagner”, “Melissa Harris-Perry” and “Hardball with Chris Matthews”. Then in 2014 Chris was switched to become NBC’s Senior White House Correspondent.

Latter Career

Having a lot on her plate, Chris hosted and reported several episodes of “For the Record” in 2017, in addition to serving as the hostess of “MTP Daily” and “Morning Joe”. In the same year, she also joined the cast of “The Beat with Ari Melber” as a correspondent and host. Being in the broadcast entertainment field, Chris Jansing is naturally active on social media too, such as Twitter and Facebook, and is followed by 71,000 people on the former and 35,000 fans on the latter, using her accounts to promote her work as well as to communicate with her fans. Some of her latest posts on Twitter include a tweet in which she spoke about the book entitled “The Red and the Blue”, which she connected to the latest events in DC. She also spoke about the Kavanaugh affair with the tweet reading: “Breaking: Statement from President @realDonaldTrump: “I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file. As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week.” Judging from her social media as well as her work, she is interested in politics and activism. In her spare time, she enjoys baking and is also a sports fan.
