An Australian woman has shared her foolproof air fryer ‘cheat sheet’ to advise about the best cooking times for vegetables, meats, seafood and frozen food.

The home chef thought it might come in ‘handy’ for those who own Kmart’s sell-out $69 air fryer, particularly those who like to cook their pork and lamb racks with the product.

Her post has received almost 2,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook, with many thanking her for pointing out the exact temperatures certain items need to be cooked at – and for how long.

When it comes to vegetables, broccoli should be heated on 210°C for six minutes, carrots 190°C for 15 minutes, corn on the cob takes six minutes at 200°C and sweet potato is between 30 and 35 minutes at 190°C.

Chicken breast takes 12 minutes at 190°C, meatballs take seven minutes at 195°C, pork chops take 12 minutes at 205°C and racks of lamb take 22 minutes at 195°C.

To cook the perfect salmon fillet in an air fryer you’ll need to put it in for 12 minutes at 205°C, scallops are between five and seven minutes on 205°C and calamari is four minutes at 205°C.

Finally, if you’re heating up frozen foods, onion rings take eight minutes to cook through at 200°C, mozzarella sticks take eight minutes at 200°C and chicken nuggets take 10 minutes at 200°C.

Those who own an air fryer said this list would become their ‘bible’ in the future.

Air fryers use a circulation of hot air to cook food that would usually be submerged in oil. 

The air fryer’s cooking chamber radiates heat from a heating element near the food, cooking it more efficiently and in a healthier manner.

The device is able to cook your average dinner meals but also excels at hot chips, desserts like lava cakes and sugar cookies and even hard-boiled eggs.
