Who is Eunji?
Jung Hye-rim was born on 18 August 1993, in Haeundae, Busan, South Korea. She is a singer, actress, songwriter, and voice actress, but best known for being a member of the K-pop girl group Apink. She’s also appeared in several popular South Korean film projects and series, including “That Winter, the Wind Blows”, “Untouchable”, and “Cheer Up!”
The Riches of Eunji
As of early-2020, Eunji’s net worth is estimated to be over $700,000, earned through a successful career in the entertainment industry, including solo projects and voice acting.
Her work with Apink and her acting projects have certainly helped in building her wealth.
Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings
Eunji grew up in Busan alongside a younger brother. She attended Shinjae Elementary school, then Jaesong Girls’ Middle School, and afterwards Hyehwa Girls’ High School. She started to gain attention locally when she participated in the KBS program “Exciting Day Enjoyable Day” in 2004, where she won first prize. Around six years later, she auditioned to become the lead singer of Apink.
Despite not having any professional singing training she was accepted, and unlike many other idols, spent only two months as a trainee before debuting with the group.
She was announced to be the sixth member of the Play M Entertainment group Apink, joining Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi, Kim Nam-joo, Son Na-eun and Oh Ha-young. They started gaining attention following the release of their debut EP “Seven Springs of Apink” in 2011, then produced more recordings, and did promotions through appearances on television.
During the same year, they won the Female Rookie Award during the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and continued gaining awards over the next few years, though Yoo-kyung left the group.
Success with Apink
Over the next years, Apink enjoyed a lot of success in South Korea and Japan. They released numerous singles, and performed consistently in Japan, appearing in several locations. They also held tours across the rest of Asia, while their concerts in Korea were selling out quickly. Following the release of their seventh EP “One & Six”, the group embarked on another Asian Tour, before winning a Melon Music Award for their song “I’m So Sick”.
In 2019, the group held their fifth concert called “Pink Collection: Red and White”, which they followed up with a Tokyo concert called “Apink Japan Live pink Collection”. One of their latest releases is their eighth EP called “Percent”, which reached third spot on the Korean charts.
Apink is often compared to many first-generation idol groups, such as Fin.K.L. and SES. They are also identified through their innocent and pure image, instead of the more popular sexy style that most modern girl groups focus on.

However, the group has known to have evolved within the last few years, showing a different part of their characters with a mature side, while still retaining their innocence. In recent years, the group has also incorporated house music, autotune, and other electronic dance music (EDM) components.
Solo Projects
Aside from her work with Apink, Eunji has been busy with other projects both in music and acting, working alongside various artists such as Yang Yo-seob, Seo In-guk, and Hug Gak. She released her debut EP as a solo artist called “Dream”, which comprised six songs, one called “Hopefully Sky” dedicated to the time she spent with her father during her youth.
She then released a second EP called “The Space”, before working on the third EP “Hyehwa”.
Eunji has also gained recognition in the acting world, stemming from her debut in “Reply 1997” in 2012, which was one of the highest-rated series on television at the time. During the decade, she worked on numerous projects, including a musical adaptation of “Full House” and the romantic comedy series “Trot Lovers”. She was also cast as the lead of the drama ‘Cheer Up!”, before working on the action series “Untouchable”.

One of her latest projects is the horror film “0.0MHz”, which is an adaptation of the webtoon of the same name.
Personal Life
Eunji is single, and though she’s rumored to have been romantically connected with several artists, none of them have ever been confirmed. She is busy with a lot of her music and acting, that she apparently has little time for any long-term romances.
During her free time, she enjoys singing, playing the piano, and envisioning music videos. She is also a mama’s girl, and joined her mother during her youth in taking up taekwondo lessons. She mentions that she is responsible for her younger brother’s education, using her earnings as an idol to pay for his tuition fees and daily expenses.
