Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has shared his secret to an impressive 12-stone weight loss, crediting a switch in snack choices as a key factor.

In a candid chat on the Comfort Eating podcast with Grace Dent, Kerridge opened up about how altering his diet has paved the way to a healthier lifestyle.

Revealing his newfound snack obsession, Tom enthused: “It is the ultimate snack! It’s cheese and grapes. It’s cheddar and red grapes and they’re always in my fridge because it’s very easy, you don’t have to do any cooking. It gives you a burst of sugar and vitamins.”

He continued: “Normally seedless (grapes), so you get sugar rushes but you also get a sense of vitamins coming through. And, cheese for me is amazing! It’s like the ultimate snack.”

Kerridge also gave a shout-out to his preferred brands Cathedral City and Pilgrims Choice, while confessing past indulgences: “It used to be cheese on toast and an old tube of Pringles with a pint of gin,” reports Gloucestershire Live.

As the conversation unfolded, he recounted the whirlwind romance that led to his engagement with Beth Cullen-Kerridge just six weeks after their first encounter.

Tom reminisced about their unusual meeting in a pub, where Beth unexpectedly asked him: “Give me three pounds for this stripper”.

Caught off guard yet intrigued, he responded: “I was like, alright, so I gave her three pounds for this stripper and he never turned up.

“We got on really really well, we’ve been together pretty much since that day.”

After spending the night at her flat, Tom reminisced about the following day: “She came back and fully expected me to be gone with the telly missing and she’d come back and I’d made a stuffed chicken breast in a cream sauce.

“So I kind of won her over with a pasta from a 24-hour shop.”
