Qinxuan Pan, the man accused of the shooting death of a Yale graduate student, will soon get his day in court. Pan is charged with murder and larceny in connection with the death of Kevin Jiang.

The 26-year-old graduate student at Yale’s School of the Environment was also an Army veteran and had recently become engaged to be married. That marriage announcement is thought to be the motive behind the shooting.

Jiang’s fiance and Pan were both affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Zion Perry and Pan were photographed speaking together at a university swing dance in March 2020.
