A NEW documentary on talk show legend Wendy Williams is due to air this weekend and will provide an in-depth look into her recent life.
The two-part special will reveal how she’s moved on following the end of her talk show and divorce from ex-husband Kevin Hunter.
Who is Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter?
Kevin Hunter is a TV producer who is best known for being the ex-husband of American former broadcaster, media personality, and writer Wendy Williams.
He was also Williams’ manager and helped her launch The Wendy Willliams show in 2008, working as the show’s executive producer until their split.
Hunter previously owned a beauty parlor before meeting Williams, Yahoo reports.
The pair met at an ice skating rink in 1994 and tied the knot five years later in 1999.
In August 2000, Williams gave birth to their son, Kevin Hunter Jr.
When did Wendy Williams leave her husband?
After more than 20 years together, Williams ultimately filed for divorce in April 2019 following reports of Hunter fathering a child with his mistress.
Hunter was also accused of cheating, sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and abuse.
Despite their bitter divorce being finalized in January 2020, Williams and Hunter continue to be connected through their son, Kevin Jr.
In 2021, Williams told Business Insider she had been planning for divorce for almost two decades.
“I went into the delivery room knowing in my mind, ‘I’m planning my divorce,'” she said.
“Kevin was a serial cheat. He cheated when I dated him. He cheated when I married him. He cheated while I was on bed rest during the entire nine months of me being pregnant.”
“I couldn’t [leave] because the bigger the talk show got, and the more I would look into my son’s eyes … the more I decided to give of myself and I figured I’d get it on the back end, so to speak.”
How much did Kevin Hunter get off Wendy Williams in the divorce?
Following Williams’ file for divorce in 2019, Hunter was fired as the executive producer from her eponymous talk show.
After the divorce was finalised, Hunter had been receiving alimony payments of around $250,000 a month from Williams.
But according to court documents exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, Williams would no longer have to pay her ex-husband as of February 2023.
It came after Wells Fargo Bank claimed Williams was an “incapacitated person” and obtained financial guardianship over her in May 2022.
In Hunter’s demand for the host to continue making alimony payments, he initially told a New Jersey court that his monthly payments promised in their divorce suddenly stopped in February 2022.
In his filing, Kevin told the court that his livelihood depends on the payments, which were agreed to in their marital settlement agreement.
But after this attempt to get the alimony reinstated was denied by a judge, Hunter was forced to sell his Florida home that same year.
Who is Sharina Hudson?
Sharina Hudson is allegedly Hunter’s mistress who he had a 15-year affair with.
She is also thought to be the mother of their love child, a daughter named Journey.
In Williams’ “What a Mess!” documentary, she said TV and radio personality Charlamagne introduced her ex-husband to Hudson.
As per Hudson’s private Instagram page, she describes herself as a “vegan chef, designer, mom and creator”.
She also mentions that she’s the owner of ViSH clothing brand and the Vegan Nose breakfast eatery.
In an previous interview, Williams called Hudson “less-than-smart,” and that she shaded her past career as a bottle service girl at a club.
William also noted that her husband’s wannabe model mistress was “disrespectful” to her, yet once had the nerve to say she “admires“ her.
Are Sharina Hudson and Kevin Hunter still together?
It remains unclear if Hudson and Hunter are still together, with rumours first circulating last year that the couple had split.
In December 2022, Hunter confirmed that he was still in a relationship with Hudson after posting a photo of the pair together holding hands.
“QUEEN & SLIM ….back @ it again!!LOL,” he captioned the post. “CELEBRATE YOUR QUEEN ELEVATE YOUR KING!”
But in July 2023, eyebrows were raised after it was noticed Hunter has removed most traces of Hudson from his Instagram page.
In an interview on Watch What Happens Live last year, Williams admitted that she didn’t know if Hudson and Hunter were still a romantic couple.
“I have no idea,” Williams replied when asked about the relationship status. “And I don’t know how they’re raising the daughter Journey, I think she’s like two next month or something.”
