Sukhovetskiy was a Spetsnaz commander and a deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District. Some of his colleagues and other high-ranking military officials have also posted about his death.

Sergei Chipilev, the deputy of the Russian veteran’s group, Combat Brotherhood also wrote about Andrei’s death of VKontakte, the Russian version of Facebook reports News Week.

The post read that Major General passed away on the territory of Ukraine. Sergei did not specify any of the circumstances but did say that he passed away during the special operation.

The news has since been confirmed by the Russian Paratroopers Union spokesperson.

Sukhovetsky had been working in the latest role since October 2021. His death is the first high-ranking officer in the Russian ranks in Ukraine, reports Republic World.

Andrei Sukhovetsky was living in Novosibirsk, Russia, with his wife and family. His full name is Andrei Aleksandrovich Sukhovetsky.

He had previously commanded the 7th Airborne Assault Division for three years in Novorossiysk. Andrei had also participated in Victory Parade on Red Square. The Major General got awarded two Orders of Courage.
