When is the Big Brother final?

Big Brother 2023 launched on October 8 and was set to run over the course of six weeks.

Since it’s first episode, season 20 has had it’s fair share of drama and controversy.

The show found itself in the middle of a racism row after watchers blasted Olivia for a comment she made towards fellow housemate, Yinrun.

Olivia, 23, was trying to teach her peers a pop song called ‘Donald Where’s Your Trousers?’ but some of them were struggling to comprehend her thick Scottish accent.

Kerry, from Essex, said: ‘I will be honest with you, I don’t recognise one word that you said.’

While London-born Hallie added: ‘No same, all I got was Donald’s trousers’.

Olivia then pointed to Chinese-born Yinrun, who lives in Harrogate, and stated: ‘If you didn’t understand me, she’s going to have no clue what the f*** I just said.

Fellow housemates, Jordan and Henry also found themselves at the heart of the drama.

Jordan had a heart-to-heart with Henry where he stated their relationship was ‘purely platonic’, despite his flirty banter.

Fans outpour sympathy for Henry who they believe had been ‘played like [a] fiddle’.

Viewers also were less than pleased when Jordan began flirting with fellow contestant Matty, creating a messy love triangle.

The much anticipated final will hit screens on Friday, November 17, with its final week set to kick off on Monday, November 13.

What is the prize?

An icon status won’t be the only thing the winner of this year’s Big Brother will walk away with.

As previously confirmed by hosts, Will Best and AJ Odudu, the victor will also bag a £100,000 cash prize.

Previously, winners of the reality TV show have walked away with various sums of money. Craig Phillips, who bagged the top spot on season one, won £70,000.

For the four following seasons the reward stayed the same, until season five when  Nadia Almada walked away with £63,500 – £6,500 less than her predecessors.

The prize pot was less again in season six with £50,000 up for grabs.

Between season seven and nine the jackpot was raised to £100,000, the highest it had ever been, but was then lowered to £71,320 for season ten.

Ever since its 11th instalment, the prize has stayed at £100,000, but some seasons have been given the opportunity to add or take away from the pot.

The 16th series of the show, also dubbed Big Brother: Timebomb involved numerous challenges associated with time.

The Cash Bomb challenge was dropped on the cast during their penultimate week, leaving their £150,000 cash pot in danger.

The series eventually saw Chloe Wilburn bag the title of victor, taking the £116,100, part of which she said she would donate to charity.

Yinrun is a frontrunner to win this year’s season according to BetVictor, with odds of 7/4.

Despite the odds, this year’s 2023 title and £100,000 jackpot is not firmly in the hands of anyone quite yet.

Big Brother UK 2023 airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
