Joseph Galfy Death News Trending On The Internet
The discovery of elderly lawyer Joseph Galfy’s brutal murder inside his home in May 2013 sent shockwaves through the New Jersey township of Clark.
The Police immediately started a fast-track investigation to find the murderer because of the severity of the crime and the unusual suspect. The terrifying case is detailed in the Netflix documentary “The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker,” which also shows how the authorities used social media to catch Joseph’s killer.
Just wearing his underwear and socks, the 73-year-old was discovered dead in a pool of blood on the floor of his main bedroom. In addition, there were no signs of looting, which refuted any evidence of a break-in.
After being subjected to a severe head injury that crushed most of his facial and ear bones, an autopsy revealed Joseph’s death. It was determined after much deliberation that he had most likely been trampled to death.
Who Killed Joseph Galfy?
The investigators thought Joseph seemed to know his attacker because there were no indications of a forced entry, and the home was surprisingly organized.
They soon discovered a piece of paper with Kai Lawrence’s phone number in the family room, hidden beneath a laptop. The master bedroom also contained a train ticket from May 12, 2013.
The detectives recognized the victim after they reviewed the surveillance footage from the train station and saw him purchasing a ticket and conversing with a man with unruly hair. He was quickly recognized as a homeless hitchhiker named Caleb McGillivary, also known as Kai Lawrence.
The New Jersey Police issued an official statement and an arrest warrant in Kai’s name, asking the public to alert them if they saw him because his phone was unreachable and no one knew how to locate him.
