They are the owners and founders of  Cheveley Park Stud.

Thompson bought Party Politics as a gift for his wife just two days before winning the Grand National in 1992.

David survived for almost 84 years, he took his last breath on December 29, 2021. He died after suffering from renal failure.

The couple is parents to children Richard, Rosalind, and Katie, and are grandparents to seven grandchildren.

They both combined net worth is estimated to be around $10 million USD.

They own Cheveley Park Stud, which is one of the biggest and most successful thoroughbred stud farms in Europe.

The renowned stud extends to just under 1,000 acres. Also, the stud is home to four top-class stallions.

As of now, their farm stands more than 110 horses in training with 12 trainers.

The farm also owns legendary horses such as Pivotal, Medicean, Russian Rhythm, Confidential Lady, Peeress, and Nannini

Very recently, A Plus Tard also earned a Cheltenham Festival glory, which has only increased their income at the present time.

According to attheraces.com, A Plus Tard has won total prize money of around  £503,617.

At present, David and Patricia Thompson’s son Richard Thompson has been looking after the family business.

After the victory of A Plus Tard, the owner told:  “We’ve been talking about this moment, and it’s happened. It’s absolutely fantastic to win the Gold Cup.”

“Incredible. My father would have loved it, he watched the Gold Cup for many years, and to actually win it is incredible. I can’t even speak.”

“I did feel she was a bit far back, but I knew she had a gameplan – she has totally delivered. What a day for racing.”
