Guitarist Gene Cornish said in a statement that he relayed the news with a “sad heart” on his Facebook page.
“I must inform you of Dino Danelli’s passing with a shattered heart. He was the best drummer I’ve ever seen, and he was my brother.
I am currently in a terrible state. Dino, rest in peace. He wrote, “I love you, brother.”
Joe Russo, Danelli’s spokesperson, also left a note on The Rascals’ Facebook page. The Rascals were previously known as The Young Rascals.
After speaking with Danelli’s immediate family and the other Rascals members, I informed the fans of the Facebook above groups about Dino’s passing this afternoon.

According to Russo, Danelli has “no manager or PR” other than himself serving as a spokesperson.
Russo stated that the late rocker was “an insomniac,” which caused him to “sometimes stay awake for days because he was always writing, reading, painting, drawing, and watching films,” and that “art, music, and film consumed his thoughts and his emotions.”
