A couple stands accused of killing a vulnerable man with learning impairments in his own home. According to a court hearing, Lee Chugg and Jodie Swannick are accused of stamping and kicking frail Stephen Fogg to death in his Wembury kitchen.
The 60-year-body old’s was not discovered for more than two days, according to the trial. He was described as a “kind man who wanted to be friends with everyone” by the caretaker who discovered him.
Chugg and Swannick had to stand trial in April 2022 before a jury in Exeter Crown Court after pleading not guilty to his murder in Hawthorn Drive between December 14 and December 17, 2020.

Lee Chugg and Jodie Swannick are the two drug addicts who have been jailed for committing the murder of a vulnerable charity shop volunteer Stephen Hogg in his own home.
Though they denied murdering Mr. Fogg but were convicted at trial. During a sentencing hearing on Friday, Chugg’s counsel, Ignatius Hughes QC, argued that the attack was not premeditated, sadistic, or motivated by a desire for financial gain.
As per Richard Smith, QC, Swannick has a criminal background, which mainly consists of instances of shoplifting. In the sentencing hearing, Det Insp Ilona Rosson stated that the couple took advantage of the victim’s vulnerabilities.
Details Of Stephen Fogg’s Death
In December, Lee Chugg and Jodie Swannick kicked and stamped on Stephen Fogg, 60, at his home in Wembury, near Plymouth, while looking for alcohol or money to steal.
Mr. Fogg wanted to be everyone’s friend and posed no threat to anyone. Chugg and Swann had apparently been drinking vodka and taking drugs together before going to his door at 9 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020.

They were apparently hoping to drink with him. They both participated in a vicious attack in his kitchen, leaving him with a fractured skull, a shattered jaw, 35 facial injuries, and 19 broken ribs, eight of which were fractured in more than one place.
Mr. Fogg’s shirt had a bloodstained print from Chugg’s size eight trainers, indicating that he must have stamped on his face before moving on to his chest.

Both Lee Chugg and Jodie Swannick are currently serving their jail sentencing. Swanick must serve a minimum of 18 years, while Chugg must serve a minimum of 20 years.
