Who is Alexander AJ Jennings?
A SUBSTITUTE for Chase Stokes on the Outer Banks show was killed in a hit-and-run accident.
Alexander AJ Jennings, 22, was hit by two cars early Tuesday morning as the new season continues to film.
AJ was walking in Charleston, South Carolina, when he was struck around 2 a.m., the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office said.
The first vehicle left him with horrific injuries before the young actor was apparently hit by a second vehicle.
Both vehicles fled the scene, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle was reportedly later detained at a traffic stop.
After the sad news broke, Chase himself took to Instagram to share a tribute to AJ, who was also a musician.
“I’m still trying to process why certain things happen and why the world works the way it does,” he began.
“My heart is broken. Your life was just beginning. We just talked about how excited you were about your songs, how far you’d come with that old six-string, and your desire to keep creating art.

“Always, always making others’ hearts warm and being so selfless.”
Chase continued, “I wish I had more words to say right now, but the last day has been a struggle to say the least.”
He concluded, “We all love you, you touched all of our lives and made us all better people, and for that, thank you AJ. Fly high angel.”AJ had been working as a photo double and stand-in for Chase on the Netflix original according to casting agency Kimmie Stewart Casting.
She was in South Carolina to film scenes for the upcoming season three when the fatal accident occurred.
Kimmie Stewart Casting posted her own tribute to AJ via Facebook, describing the young star as a “beautiful, kind soul, and a shining light every day on set.”
According to her Instagram, AJ was born in Russia before moving to the United States and resided in Atlanta, Georgia.
Beyond her talent in acting and music, she was also a model and YouTuber.
