Bereaved mother Alison Patterson, 57, said she would like stars like Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford to spell the first letter of her daughter Lauren’s name after a goal.

Her daughter Lauren was teaching at a primary school in the capital, Doha, when she disappeared in October 2013.

Her body was found in the desert after Badr Hashim Khamis Abdallah al-Jabr raped and murdered her in a brutal attack.

Lauren’s family was told she would face the death sentence, but instead received a measly ten and a half year jail sentence and her family offered compensation of just £200,000, barely covering her legal, travel and legal costs. accommodation so far.

Now, Alison, a mother of three, has sent 27 letters, one to each England player and one to the Southgate team manager, the Football Association and the addresses of the team’s relevant clubs.

The retired teaching assistant said: “I want every England player to think of Lauren when they walk onto the pitch.

“If just one of them made an L shape after scoring a goal or winning a match, it would honor Lauren and it would mean a lot.”

When Lauren disappeared, Alison and her husband, a retired bond broker, Kevin Crotty, 61, flew to the Middle East, where the British consul informed them that the body of a badly burned woman had been found in the desert.

The couple were told that identifying the remains would be “too traumatic” and Alison gave police a DNA sample that proved the body was Lauren’s.

Abdallah al-Jabr, who was with her the night she disappeared, was arrested and her parents were told that he would face the death penalty for her murder.

But after receiving just 10 1/2 years for the murder of Alison and Kevin, Lauren’s stepfather, they fear al-Jabr may soon be released.

The pair continue to fight for justice for Lauren and say they will never give up.

The couple have visited Qatar more than 30 times in the last eight years and had to be close to their daughter’s killer in court.

In March 2014, Jabr was sentenced to death after the prosecutor described Lauren’s death as “appalling and shocking to Qatari society”.

In Jabr’s appeal, Alison was asked to choose ‘retribution, compensation or forgiveness’. When she stood up in court and said, ‘I do not forgive,’ the judge upheld the original death sentence.
