Who is Brett Finch ?
NRL star Brett Finch has been accused of sharing child abuse material on his mobile phone as part of a major police operation.
The 40-year-old retired man who played 330 first-degree games was arrested Tuesday and charged with five counts of using a transportation service to broadcast or post child abuse.
The former half of the Blues received conditional police bail and will face Sutherland Local Court next month, Tuesday, January 11.
Court records obtained by Daily Mail Australia reveal that the accused footballer’s bail conditions prohibit him from being around young children. He is also prohibited from accessing social networks or the Internet.

Finch was one of eight people, ages 34 to 71, who were arrested as part of an investigation into the sharing of child abuse material via a phone chat line.
Officers searched homes around New South Wales, including Petersham, Cranebrook, Coffs Harbor, Shoal Bay, Gerroa, Surry Hills, and Stanmore.

Police allege that the group was using the hotline to disseminate and discuss material related to child s*xual abuse.
Mobile phones, other electronic devices and cannabis were found during the various raids.
The commander of the s*x crimes and child abuse squad, Detective Superintendent Jayne Doherty, said the alleged criminals had tried to access some of the material.
“We will allege that each of the men arrested by detectives in the last month expressed a desire to engage in s*xual activity with children and, in some cases, attempted to access child abuse material from other users of the service,” she said.
“Producing, disseminating or possessing child abuse material are serious crimes, and detectives will continue to dismantle this type of operation, so that children are free from harmful situations, exploitation and abuse.”
