A man has been charged with kidnapping a woman who disappeared while jogging near the University of Memphis on Friday, police said.
Cleotha Abston, 38, “has been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and tampering with evidence,” the Memphis Police Department statement said Sunday.
Eliza Fletcher, 34, “has not been located at this time,” the statement added.
Arrested and Charged
Cleotha Abston was charged Sunday with especially aggravated kidnapping and tampering with evidence, hours after police found him inside the black van wanted in connection with Fletcher’s disappearance.
The 34-year-old wife and mother of two was jogging Friday morning when she was forced into a dark GMC Terrain; Her broken phone and her water bottle were also found near her.

Investigation
Investigators were continuing to search for the mother of two who went missing early Friday, according to the statement.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” she added.
In an earlier statement, police said Fletcher’s personal items were recovered. At the time of the abduction, she was wearing purple sweatpants and a pink top.
On Saturday, members of her family, who call her Liza, issued a statement read by Fletcher’s uncle, Michael Keeney.
