Who is Darren Osment ?
A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who disappeared a decade ago, police said.
Darren Osment, 40, is set to appear in Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with murdering 32-year-old Claire Holland.
Ms Holland, from the Lawrence Weston area of Bristol, was last seen leaving Seamus O’Donnell’s city center pub at 11.15pm. m. on June 6, 2012, the day after the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.
Missing Claire Holland
She was reported missing a few days after her and has not been seen or heard from since, despite several massive searches and requests for information.
Avon and Somerset Police said Osment, from Chessel Drive, Patchway, South Gloucestershire, was taken into custody.
Investigation
Detective Superintendent Gary Haskins, head of the main crime investigation team, said: “This is a crucial time in our investigation and we have updated Claire’s family now that a man has been charged with her murder.
“We will continue to provide any support they may need through our dedicated Family Liaison Officer.”
Ben Samples, Senior District Crown Prosecutor with the CPS South West Complex Casework Unit, added: ‘The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized Avon and Somerset Police to charge Darren Osment with one count of murder. .
Mrs. Holland is seen upstairs at a convenience store on the day she disappeared, moments before leaving the premises.
“The authority to charge follows a complex investigation by the lead crime investigation team, which was supported by the complex casework unit.
“A thorough review of all the evidence gathered has led us to conclude that our legal tests to initiate a prosecution were met.

The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Darren Osment are ongoing and that he is entitled to a fair trial.
“It is extremely important that you do not report, comment or share information online that could in any way undermine these proceedings.”
CCTV footage
New CCTV footage was released on the 10th anniversary of her disappearance earlier this year, in an attempt to trace Ms Holland’s last movements.
She was described as white, about 5 feet tall, of a petite build, with shoulder-length brown hair that is often tied in a ponytail.
She was last seen wearing black pants, a short-sleeved black t-shirt, and a gray t-shirt underneath it.
She was also carrying a cream Primark reusable tote bag.
CCTV shows Mrs Holland walking down Baldwin Street towards Seamus O’Donnell’s pub at around 9:30 p.m. m. on Wednesday, June 6.
But police officers have no footage showing where she went next.
