Who is Dave Kehoe ?
A man who died after being attacked during a large-scale riot in Manchester city center may have been trying to act as a peacemaker.
GMP Serious Crimes Division Superintendent Dave Kehoe said: ‘This was a tragic incident in which a 60-year-old man lost his life and our thoughts are with his family and friends who are understandably devastated.
“ There is a cordon in place and officers are currently on site as we piece together exactly what happened and who was involved.
‘The area was very busy at the time and several people may have seen what happened. Even the smallest information could help our research.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: ‘A man has sadly died following a riot in Manchester city center tonight.
Arrested
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene and taken into custody where he remains.
Greater Manchester police were called into a “serious disturbance” on Dantzic Street, near the popular Printworks entertainment venue, around 8pm on Saturday night.

A group of people were involved and a 60-year-old man was injured and died at the scene.
Shortly after 8 p.m., officers were called in to report a disturbance involving multiple people on Dantzic Street, near Printworks.
‘A group of people were involved in a disturbance abroad and a 60-year-old man suffered an injury and, sadly, died at the scene.
The agents are currently in place establishing the schedule of the events and following a series of lines of investigation.
“A man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene and taken into custody where he remains.”
