Stephanie Russell of Louisville was arrested on May 19 by FBI agents. A federal criminal complaint and arrest warrant were issued against a Louisville medical doctor for murder-for-hire using interstate commerce facilities.

According to court documents, Russell, 52, allegedly contacted someone she thought she hired to kill her ex-husband on May 15, 2022.
She contacted an FBI undercover employee to assassinate her ex-husband (UCE).

Dr. Stephanie Russell Arrested For Hiring To Murder Ex-Husband?
Dr. Stephanie Russell has been arrested for the accusation of hiring someone to murder her ex-husband. Russell agreed to pay $7,000 in total for the murder.
On May 18, she dropped $3,500 in a dropbox outside her medical office, which was half of the agreed-upon amount.
She was supposed to pay the remaining $3,500 after the murder. Russell appeared in court for the first time this morning before a U.S. Magistrate Judge.
On May 24, she will have a preliminary detention hearing. Russell faces up to ten years in federal prison if convicted. The federal judicial system does not allow for parole.

If convicted at trial, Dr. Stephanie Russell faces a maximum sentence of ten years in federal prison.
According to court records, Russell’s ex-husband filed for divorce in 2018, and the divorce was finalized in 2020.
Prior to her arrest, the two were fighting over custody. Stephanie appeared in court for the first time, and she will have a preliminary detention hearing on May 24.
