Elizabeth Lyn Vargas’ ex was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after he barricaded himself in her home.
Elizabeth Lyn Vargas’ ex was arrested and charged with multiple felonies after he barricaded himself inside the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alumna’s home this week.
Ryan Geraghty, 33, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and racketeering, according to a news release from the Newport Beach Police Department.
His arrest record, seen by Page Six, reveals that he will appear in court on February 3. He is still in custody.
As Page Six previously reported, Vargas, 46, called police after Geraghty locked himself in her home after allegedly extorting money from her for months.
“She called the police [on Tuesday], so the police started monitoring the house and he showed up,” a source told us. “He runs into the house, he holds her hostage, he has a gun. When [the police] realized he pulled out a gun, they raided.”
Suspect
The Newport Police Department confirmed our source’s information in the press release, stating: “Once inside the residence, police officers encountered an armed suspect who was actively threatening the life of the victim. Officers took immediate action and took the suspect into custody.”

Police also evacuated nearby residences in response to the situation at Vargas’s home, but ultimately confirmed that there were “no further threats to the community.”
Incident
After the incident, Vargas’ manager, David Weintraub, told us the reality star was “shocked.”
“She is in shock and had an extremely traumatic experience,” he said. “Fortunately, the Newport Police Department saved her and she is fine.”
The Vargas Vodka founder, who was uninjured, has yet to address the incident on social media.
Vargas had a brief stint on “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” appearing on the hit series Bravo during season 15. The network refused to renew her contract last June, along with Kelly Dodd and Braunwyn Windham-Burke.
