Who is Jameion Peterson ?

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested and charged with the murder of his 10-year-old stepsister after her body was found in an abandoned lot, police say.

Na’Mylah J. Turner-Moore was reported missing Tuesday morning around 6:15 a.m., just hours before she was found dead.


Na’Mylah J. Turner-Moore was only 10 years old.

Moore, of Saginaw, Michigan, was pronounced dead at the scene, Michigan State Police Officer Kim Vetter said.


Suspect Arrested and Charged

Police later confirmed that the minor suspect, identified as Jameion Peterson, was in custody.

On Wednesday, Peterson was arraigned on a murder charge unsealed by Saginaw County District Judge Elian E.H. Fichtner.

Fichtner denied Peterson’s bail at arraignment, Michigan Live reported.


You are being charged as an adult under state law.

According to Michigan Live, Saginaw County Assistant District Attorney Blair N. Stevenson said Moore’s stepfather called his biological father Tuesday morning to ask if he was at his house.

She was not there, so he called the police, who began a search for the young woman.

The final cause of death is pending an autopsy, though prosecutors said there did not appear to be a deadly weapon or s*xual assault.

Moore’s mother was not there when she disappeared.

“This is a very, very sad situation,” Saginaw Police Chief Robert M. Ruth said.

Ruth praised his officers who first arrived on the scene and found Na’Mylah’s body.

“They did what they were supposed to do, the way they were trained to deal with situations like this,” Ruth said.

“They talked to the parents of the boy who was missing at the time and then they found the boy. From that point on, our investigators and the Michigan State Police investigators did a great job.”

Peterson will appear for a preliminary examination on September 21.

Na’Mylah’s uncle started a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of the girl’s funeral.

“Na’Mylah was a brilliant 10-year-old girl who went missing on August 30, 2022 and was found a couple of hours later murdered and abandoned in a field,” he wrote in the fundraiser’s description.

“My family is completely devastated and broken.”

The young woman was a student at Stone Elementary School in Saginaw.

The family of one of his classmates donated to GoFundMe and left a note that read, “From your friend at school (Stone Elementary)… We are praying for all of you to find comfort in God and peace. love and prayers.” ”

More than $1,600 of the $5,000 goal had been raised as of Thursday night.

Nearly thirty years ago, on September 18, 1992, 8-year-old Shamonica M. Brown was found near 12th and Annesley streets, the same location where Moore’s body was discovered.

Police searched for Brown for days, finally finding her Sept. 22 behind a bush in a window box on the steps of a church.
