Who is James Leonard Fairhall ?

“There is a huge void left in their lives by the loss of their mother, three young lives forever changed by their despicable violence,” said Victoria High Court Justice Jane Dixon, jailing him on Friday for 25 years.
The 47-year-old was jealous and enraged when he chased Dalzell through his home in Seaford, southeast Melbourne, in February 2020.
She had become romantically interested in an old school friend after ending her 20-year on-and-off relationship with Fairhall, who had been violent towards her in the past.
Fairhall moved back into the family home a few months earlier when she had nowhere else to live.
Death
The death of the mother of three children, Noeline Dalzell, 49, had left “a huge void in their lives by the loss of their mother, three young lives forever changed by their despicable violence,” said the court judge Supreme of Victoria, Jane Dixon, to her murderer. james fairhall
Two days before the murder, Fairhall had told his friends that he wanted to kill the man she was talking to, Mrs. Dalzell.
Hours before the stabbing, she called her new love interest and apologized to him.
When her children came home from school on February 4, they found their parents arguing. Fairhall yelled at Mrs. Dalzell and accused her of cheating on him.
When he put down the scissors he had been holding, his youngest son, then 13, hid them. Fairhall then armed himself with a large kitchen knife.

Her oldest daughter, 16, and her son, 15, pushed her mother into her son’s room to protect her, but Fairhall followed them.
The two children stepped between their parents, while the youngest daughter watched.
All three yelled at her to stop before Fairhall walked over and stabbed her mother in the neck.
Fairhall’s son knocked him to the ground and he dropped the knife, allowing Mrs. Dalzell to flee to a neighbor’s house.
Fairhall continued to pursue her, armed with a second knife, but Mrs. Dalzell collapsed in the street and died from injuries to her neck.
Murder
Judge Dixon said the Fairhall offense was a serious example of intimate partner murder.
“The tragic legacy of her crime is that her three children have effectively lost both parents as a result of his actions,” he said.
Fairhall tried to blame her children in letters he wrote to them from prison. They were never turned over, but were used by prosecutors to show their lack of remorse for the crime.
