Jonathan Barnwell, who has appeared on Industry and Ripper Street, said angry residents believe the spoilers donned terrifying masks and disguised themselves as trick-or-treating revelers before leaving a trail of destruction Monday night.

The actor, who has a one-year-old daughter, said he feared children’s lives were being put at risk by the shadowy climate activist group Tire Extinishers.

Wreckers struck under cover of darkness in Randolph Crescent, Maida Vale, west London, leaving up to 20 SUVs, including electric and hybrid vehicles, with slashed tires in the street, it is claimed.

In addition to Bentleys and Porsches, activists damaged all-electric Audi e-trons and electric BMWs.

The attackers left leaflets explaining why they had targeted the vehicles under the windshield wipers.

Jonathan, who also played Seb Oldroyd in the BBC’s hit drama series Industry, told MailOnline: “Just before the school run, when the mothers and children got into their cars, they were surprised to see that most of the cars on the street had slashed tires.” .

‘It was absolute carnage. The damage needs to be paid for, but when you have small children, and many of them are babies, the last thing you want is for the tire to come off the rim while you’re driving.

‘It’s not a joke. A flat tire is as dangerous as it sounds.

Organizers said they had flattened tires in a number of upmarket areas in west London, including South Kensington, Maida Vale, St John’s Wood, Queen’s Park and Holland Park.

They denied cutting the tires and said they had been deflated by other means.

It comes as organizers boasted that they had reached the historic goal of ‘disarming’ 10,000 vehicles worldwide.

They said cities around the world are competing with each other to target the most vehicles, without a single saboteur being arrested, and boasted a growing number of celebrity victims.

In a statement, West London TX said, “We deflated 184 SUV tires by running lentils on the valve caps.”

They said that ‘especially in cities’ vehicles ‘have no other function than to flaunt the wealth and comfort of individuals’.

The statement added: “We cannot sit idly by while the luxurious ownership of a few brings us ever closer to runaway climate collapse.”

‘Immobilizing the SUVs is a small and necessary act of resistance in the face of environmental catastrophe.’

The organisation, which describes itself as “a network of autonomous groups acting independently”, launched actions in the UK in March and claims to be active in at least 15 countries, including the US, Canada, France , Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, New Zealand and Italy.

The group said: ‘Tyre Fire Extinguishers is celebrating a major milestone after reaching the target of 10,000 flat SUVs since March.

“This milestone came earlier than expected, and the group originally aimed to reach it by Christmas.”

Spokeswoman Marion Walker added: “In just over half a year, we have spread across the world and disarmed 10,000 SUV death machines.

‘This is just the beginning. We hope that many more people around the world will join. We will keep going, until SUVs are in the dustbin of history.”
