Jailed
Cahill was jailed on Thursday after a dangerous high-speed car chase in April last year left two police officers injured and caused nearly £14,000 worth of damage.
He was halfway through an eight-year sentence for conspiracy to rob, but while on leave he led police in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, on a dangerous high-speed chase.
Leeds Crown Court heard that patrolling officers in a marked police car saw a Ford Fiesta go by on the wrong side of the road at 4.50am. m. on April 16 of last year.

Prosecutor
Prosecutor Jade Edwards said they chased the Fiesta, which was driven by Cahill and reached speeds of 90 mph in a 40 mph zone.
She then drove nearly 70 mph when she hit a 30 mph residential area, the court was told.
At one point, he did a 180-degree turn on the parking brake in an attempt to ram police vehicles.
He then entered a roundabout at 75mph and attempted to enter the M1 motorway on the wrong side of the road.
Police made “tactical contact,” colliding with the Fiesta and forcing it to stop, the court heard.
Cahill, of Wakefield, denied dangerous driving and driving while prohibited, but later changed his guilty plea after a trial date was set.
He also admitted that he did not provide a breath test or blood sample for analysis, and that he did not have insurance.
The court heard that Cahill has 46 prior convictions for 131 crimes, including 14 for driving while prohibited, 15 for no insurance and one for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Jailing Cahill for 21 months, Judge Mushtaq Khokhar told him: ‘There are a lot of driving-related offenses on his record.
‘Here we are once again. I have seen the pictures. You could have lost control and at any time.
“The accident, tactical or otherwise, I was certainly scared by what I saw.”
The court was told that the soonest Cahill could be released from his current sentence for robbery is May of next year.
