Police were dispatched to 1273 Anoka Street on Monday night before 10:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from the house where screaming could be heard.
Neighbors described the family, in especially the sisters, as friendly street fixtures who they usually seen mowing the lawn or walking their dog.
Joshua had to be put to death by the police. By Wednesday afternoon, the area had been cleared of the police tape, and the Ready family home was prepared for cleaning.

Joshua Graves, who reportedly stalked a different woman he attended school with from March to June of this year, was charged on June 24 with three counts of criminal harassment, assault, and sexual assault, according to courtroom documents.
He was accused of frequently following the woman, attempting to speak with her and even making an attempt to kiss her, according to unproven charges. With the approval of the Crown, Graves was freed the same day he was charged.

Joshua Graves was ordered to live with his mother Emily Graves at a different residence and not at his father’s house on Anoka Street, who was acting as his guarantor, according to a copy of his release order.

According to her own statement, the mother of the generally non-violent son, who has a history of mental illness and was starting to receive treatment, told CBC News that she thinks her son lost touch with reality.

The fatalities have been named by Ottawa police as 50-year-old Anne-Marie Ready, a trade commissioner at Global Affairs, and her 15-year-old daughter Jasmine Ready, who just finished Grade 10 at the French Catholic high school Franco-Cité, according to her school board.
Catherine Ready, the family’s 19-year-old eldest daughter, both the stabbing and being shot at by police managed to live. According to the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est, she had graduated from Franco-Cité the previous year.
Graves had previously expressed romantic interest in one of the daughters, according to his relatives, who advised him to stop communicating with her, according to CBC.
When the patrol officers arrived, they discovered Graves stabbing Catherine Ready on the sidewalk outside. According to early evidence provided by Ontario’s police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit, they told him to put down the knife.
