A murder suspect wanted by police after a mother was stabbed to death and her daughter injured has been found dead in a canal.
The body of a man recovered in the vicinity of the City Mill Lock on Blaker Road in Newham, east London, on Friday night is believed to be Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino.
Florentino, 38, was wanted in connection with the murder of Yolanda Saldana Feliz, 53, who was found stabbed to death in her Stratford home in the early hours of Sunday, October 23.
Her 30-year-old daughter, named Lauris by the Evening Standard, was also stabbed in the same incident and hospitalized with serious injuries.
A murder investigation was launched and detectives said they believed the suspect was known to both victims.
Police treat the man’s death as unexpected but not suspicious. On Wednesday, October 26, detectives issued a public appeal naming the suspect.
A statement issued today read: ‘As part of their investigations, at around 7.30pm on Friday 28th October, detectives were in the vicinity of Blaker Road, E15 when they noticed the body of a man in a river.
The body was recovered and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious.

“Although the formal identification has not yet been carried out, they trust that it is the body of Miguel Ángel Álvarez Florentino.”
His relatives have been informed.
Yolanda’s family has also been updated and continues to be supported by specialist officers.
Officers rushed to an address on Windmill Lane, Newham at 3:35 a.m. on October 23.
Police cordoned off an area of the street and staff in blue forensic suits were seen going to and from the scene.
After the incident, Chief Inspector Lisa Parker of the Met Northeast BCU said, “My thoughts and condolences go out to both of these women, as well as their friends and family.”
