A father has admitted to killing his teenage daughter with a shotgun in an alleged honor killing, but claimed it was an accident and was only meant to “scare” her.
Mohammad Kazem Lashkari, 43, was reportedly furious when he saw his daughter Ariana Lashkari, 15, in a park in Iran with a man.
After he was arrested, Mohammad claimed that he only wanted to scare her daughter with the shotgun when she accidentally shot and killed her in Nurabad, southern Iran, on June 27.
He told police: ‘After an argument, Ariana went to my mother’s house and I couldn’t control my anger.
I went there with my shotgun to scare her. I really didn’t mean to kill my daughter. I accidentally shot.

Her father, Mohammad Kazem Lashkari, 43, saw her in the park with a man and reportedly struggled to accept his daughter’s wish to “choose her own lifestyle”.
However, one of Ariana’s relatives said that her father had killed her after struggling to accept her daughter’s belief that she did not want a life of oppression.
“Ariana was a child who didn’t like being oppressed by her father,” she told human rights activist Masih Alinejad.
‘She wanted to choose her own lifestyle and have a free mind. Accepting her views was difficult for her father.
She added: ‘Ariana was a quiet girl who went to school every day full of hope. This girl was very kind and caring.
‘All her friends and classmates of hers adored her. I’m still in shock. It’s amazing that Ariana is gone.
‘The regime is doing everything possible so that this tragedy is not published in the media.
“I hope that the blood of this innocent girl will not be trampled on like many other girls who have been killed in this way.”
