Who is Nathaniel Owens?
Nathaniel Owens, 35, was in central Manhattan booking on a series of charges related to the shocking attack outside the Fifty Hotel & Suites by Affinia in Midtown in the early hours of March 18, the NYPD said.
In addition to attempted murder, he was also charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Owens has at least 10 prior arrests, including criminal possession of narcotics, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the sources said.
Tourist Pierrick Jamaux, 33, who was visiting from Hong Kong, was shot multiple times in the legs and groin while he was wearing the expensive Richard Mille watch that he regularly displayed in social media photos.

“Someone knew he had the watch and someone knew he would be back at the hotel at that time,” he said of the attack on East 50th Street near Third Avenue.
However, the gunman fled unsuccessfully, thanks in part to one of Jamaux’s friends bravely jumping onto the attacker’s back.
Jamaux, a native of France, was also with his model wife of 26 years, Sarah Watts, at the time, later speaking about his support in an Instagram post.
“I never would have gotten out of the ICU without her love and care,” he wrote of her ongoing recovery at Bellevue.
“You were here for me and I will be here for you as long as I am. I love you my superwoman ♥”, he wrote.
