Mexican soap opera actor Pablo Lyle has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter by a Miami jury.

He now faces up to 15 years behind bars at sentencing.

The pre-sentencing trial has been set for October 26.

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said in a statement, “Two lives were destroyed by simple road rage, a situation we see far too often on our streets and streets across the country.”

In March 2019, Lyle, 35, was a passenger in a car driven by his brother-in-law when he passed Juan Ricardo Hernandez, 63, at the intersection of NW 27th Avenue and 14th Street.

At a stoplight, Hernandez ran up to the truck Lyle was in and banged on the window.

Lyle was captured on surveillance video getting out of the passenger side of the vehicle. His brother-in-law also got out of the car, but it was not parked and began to roll toward the intersection.

The brother-in-law ran to the car to prevent it from rolling and Hernandez walked to his own car. That’s when surveillance video shows Lyle running up to Hernandez and punching him.

The blow left Hernandez unconscious and she later died from his injuries.

Lyle, who claims that he acted in self-defense, was the star of the Mexican soap opera “My Adorable Curse.” He is also starring in a Netflix drama called “Yankee”.
