The San Francisco Police Department said officers responded around 2:27 a.m. Friday for a report of a home invasion.

Two sources with knowledge of the attack investigation also told The Associated Press that 82-year-old Paul Pelosi was specifically targeted, severely beaten with a hammer and suffering blunt force injuries to the head and body.
