                              Peter Tobin Biography

Who is Peter Tobin?

Serial killer Peter Tobin has been rushed to hospital from prison where he is serving a life sentence for the murder of three young women.

The 75-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh from HMP Edinburgh, where he spent two nights, after falling ill.

Tobin is serving a life sentence for raping and murdering 23-year-old Polish student Angelika Kluk and hiding her body under the floor of a Glasgow church in 2006.

The killer is also serving a life sentence for the murders of 15-year-old schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton, of Redding, near Falkirk, in 1991, and 18-year-old Dinah McNicol the same year.

His bodies were found 17 years later, buried in the garden of his former home in Margate, Kent.

The news comes just two months after Tobin was taken to the same hospital after falling ill in January.

Murder

Tobin was convicted of murdering 18-year-old Dinah McNicol (pictured above) in 1991, serving one of three life sentences at HMP Edinburgh.

A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: “We are unable to comment on individual prisoners.”

It is not the first time Tobin has been taken to the hospital from prison or it is alleged that he has fallen ill in recent years.

Tobin has been at the center of a number of reported health problems over the past decade.

In January 2019 it was reported that he was too frail to leave his cell after being stricken with cancer.

And in February 2016 he was taken to the Royal Infirmary by ambulance after he reportedly collapsed in his cell.

Tobin was also slashed across the face with a razor blade during what was said to be a prison attack in 2015, leaving him with an 8-inch scar.

However, Tobin has repeatedly feigned illnesses in the past, even faking death in his cell in 2012.

That year Tobin was reported to have racked up medical bills of £15,000, including £200 on a special toilet seat after claiming he had a bad back.

His 2009 trial for murdering Mrs McNicol was also interrupted three times when he was taken from Chelmsford Crown Court complaining of chest pains and shingles.
