Charged
Isbell charged at Dahmer and said “Whatever your name is is Satan”
The courtroom scene begins with Isbell giving a victim impact statement in court as Dahmer sits quietly at the defense table.
However, she lost control when he started yelling at the serial killer.
“My name is Rita Isbell and I am the older sister of Errol Lindsey. Whatever your name is, it’s Satan. I’m angry,” Isbell said of Dahmer’s sentencing.
“That’s how you act when you’re out of control. I never want to see my mother have to go through this again. Never Jeffrey. Jeffrey I hate you motherfucker. Hate you…”
An Associated Press article from 1992 quoted Isbell on the moment. That article says that she also yelled, “I hate you, 3/8.”
“Everyone had to sit there and suck it up,” Isbell told the AP of the other members of her family. ″What she saw of me…is what Errol would have done. The only difference is that Errol would have jumped on that table.
She told the AP that she wanted Dahmer to “see what is out of control.”
According to a 1992 Associated Press article accessed through Newspapers.com, Dahmer said at the sentencing hearing, “I believe that only the Lord Jesus Christ can save me from my sins. I know I will have to turn to God to help me get through each day.”
According to a 1991 article in the Wisconsin State Journal, Lindsey disappeared “after a visit to the Grand Avenue Mall, a downtown shopping mall.” He was identified from dental records. “I’m bitter. I am angry and scarred for life,” Lindsey’s brother, Michael Eckwood, told the State Journal.
Time explained how Dahmer met Lindsey, a heterosexual, and “lured Lindsey to her apartment, where he drugged him, put a hole in his skull and poured hydrochloric acid on him.”
According to Dahmer, “Lindsey woke up after this experiment (which Dahmer had conceived in hopes of inducing a state of permanent submission, without resistance) and said, ‘My head hurts. What time is it?’” reported Time.
“In response to this, Dahmer drugged Lindsey again and then strangled him. He decapitated Lindsey and retained his skull; he then skinned Lindsey’s body, placing the skin in a solution of cold water and salt for several weeks in hopes of retaining it permanently. Reluctantly, Dahmer got rid of Lindsey’s fur when he noticed that she had become too frayed and brittle.”
Family
A family member says the Isbells are upset about the Netflix show
However, a family member of hers wrote on Twitter that the renewed attention on the Netflix show has caused family trauma.
“I don’t tell anyone what to watch, I know the true crime media is huge, but if you’re really curious about the victims, my (Isbell) family is crazy about this show,” he wrote.
