One person was arrested Friday afternoon following a police chase that ended in a two-vehicle crash that injured a pedestrian in Sacramento, authorities said.
The chase began around 12:52 p.m. in the area of Franklin Boulevard and 52nd Street after an officer spotted a driver speeding in an oncoming bike lane and running a red light, the Sacramento Police Department said.
The car was found involved in a collision at the intersection of 47th Avenue and Franklin Boulevard.
A female pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

The driver, identified by police as 29-year-old Shasha Adams, was arrested on DUI charges, police said.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating exactly what led to the crash.
The intersection is completely closed while authorities investigate.
