Who is Shelagh Robertson?
Shelagh Robertson appeared today at Cambridge Crown Court for the death of five-month-old Louis Thorold in an accident in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire on January 22 last year.
The 74-year-old man was not asked to plead guilty to the single charge of causing the baby’s death by reckless driving.
Mrs Robertson, of Waterbeach, is said to have been driving a Mazda 2 car on the A10 at the junction with Car Dyke Road on the day in question.
The car allegedly struck a pickup truck, which went up onto the pavement and allegedly came into contact with the stroller Louis’s mother was pushing.

The baby’s parents, Chris and Rachael Thorold, listened to the audience from the public gallery.
Ms. Thorold suffered serious injuries in the accident and spent more than 100 days in the hospital.
Judge Mark Bishop set a provisional trial date for August 8 with an estimated time of three to four days.
Robertson was given bond to return to court on April 22 for a plea hearing.
