                               Tonya Robertson Biography

Who is Tonya Robertson ?

Houston resident Tonya Robertson, 53, who has a heart condition and lives with her wheelchair-bound son, had just cashed a $3,900 check – something the robber seemed already aware of.

Horrific security footage shows the moment an armed assailant targeted and accosted a 53-year-old grandmother at gunpoint outside her Houston home for $3,900 in cash.

The video, recorded at 7:35 a.m. m. on March 26, shows the masked assailant running out of the passenger side of a black sedan that stopped at Tonya Robertson’s home as she was coming home from a night shift.

‘Quick, quick, come here. Come here!’ The hooded robber can be heard screaming in the fast-paced clip as he runs toward Robertson, pointing a gun at her.

Arrested and Charged

As the attacker charges forward with gun extended, Robertson, who is at her doorstep with her phone and two of her bags, throws her belongings at him in apparent fear.

The thief, however, seems uninterested and they land on the lawn. He continues to Robertson and frisks her for cash.

“Give me the money,” the assailant says in the clip as he deals with a distraught Robertson. ‘B***h, I’ll blow your head off.’

‘I do not have money!’ she cries out, visibly distraught.

The Houston resident, who lives with her 32-year-old adult son in a wheelchair, had just cashed a $3,900 tax refund check after leaving work at 6:30 a.m., and had the money on her, something that the thief apparently already knew.

“Tanesha says, Tanesha says you have the money,” the thief can be heard saying in the clip, still looking for her.

Visibly taken aback, a hyperventilating Robertson continues to plead with the thief, “I swear, I swear,” then gives up in terror.

‘He is there!’ Robertson yells into the clip, pointing to the two bags of him sitting on the front lawn. The assailant immediately diverts his attention to the bags, stopping his attack on Robertson to pick them up.

He is there. He’s there,” Robertson repeats a little calmer as the thief grabs the bag, leaving his phone behind, and runs to the car, still parked on the curb.

Footage then shows Robertson briefly glancing at the attacker before running into his home. The car, apparently driven by an accomplice, can be seen driving away.

‘Help me! Help me!’ Robertson screams in the clip as he walks into his house.

The meeting took place in less than 20 seconds.

Attack

“He cried, I mean really hard,” Robertson told the station. “Mom, I’m sorry I couldn’t help you,” he recalled him saying to her after the robbery.

“My life is more important because I could be away from my children, my grandchildren and, you know, my loved ones,” he said.

Video of the attack was released by the Houston Police Department on Monday and has since garnered tens of thousands of views and shares, with many eager to help the mother.

One of those good samaritans, Houston rapper Bring the Truth, saw the video on Monday and immediately posted it on his Instagram page, expressing his disappointment as he asked for Robertson’s contact information so he could get in touch with her. .

‘Maan… This shit is not cool at all, women and children don’t go,’ she wrote in the caption. ‘What if this was one of our moms or grandmas… The real ones can’t co-sign this… Get me her info… This isn’t the code at all… Take me to her.. .’

Sure enough, social media users made the meeting possible, and the Houston accessory was able to meet with Robertson the next day, where he presented the mother with a check for an unspecified amount.

“I did it to her… I made sure she knew that the real ones don’t stay on the sidelines or approve of what happens to her… And she also blessed her… Protect ours,” the rapper wrote on Instagram, in a post that featured a photo of him standing with Robertson showing the check.

GoFundMe

The rapper also wrote that during her meeting, he told Robertson to create a GoFundMe account so she can receive donations, explaining that many people want to help her.

Incident

“I’m still hurt from the incident, no one wants to get a gun pointed at them and robbed,” she told KHOU 11 News on Tuesday. “If I could just get over that fear and everything, I’d be fine.”

Robertson says she’s not sure how the thief was tipped off about the cash, but she remembers talking to friends about waiting for the $3,900 refund.

She now believes that’s what led to the robbery.

“Keep your mouth shut, keep your business to yourself,” she told KHOU. ‘You don’t know who your friends are, who is around you.’

Robertson did not provide any comment on the identity of Tanesha, the name the thief referred to during the attack. Police are investigating the incident and are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Both the thief and the driver of the escape, who was not recorded in the images, are still at large.
