Who is Yonathan Hernandez ?
Officers said the victim had met his three alleged kidnappers at a motel in Westbury, but they aren’t sure how he was lured there.
“He went there not knowing what was going to happen,” a police source said.
The victim was held at knifepoint and forced to give the trio his keys, phone and money, police said.
The suspects then forced the victim into his vehicle and apparently took him to an ATM to steal more money, Nassau County police said.
The plan unraveled when officers pulled over the Ford F150 at 6:45 p.m. after he ran a stop sign and officers noticed one of the passengers, a 48-year-old man, appeared distressed.
After ordering everyone to get out of the vehicle, one of the alleged assailants, Tylor Salmeron, ran off and threw a large machete hidden in his shorts to the ground. Police were able to catch him, along with the suspected driver, Yonathan Hernandez, and a 16-year-old passenger whose name was not released.

Victim
The victim was held at knifepoint and forced to hand over her keys, phone and money.
“They practically kept him prisoner,” a police source told The Post of the suspects. “They were trying to get money out of him. They had guns, so who knows what they were thinking.”
Arrested and Charged
Yonathan Hernandez and Tylor Salmeron were charged with kidnapping, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, and conspiracy.
The suspects were charged with crimes including second-degree kidnapping and first-degree robbery, as well as fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree conspiracy.
