Who was Christian Rowe?
SLOUGH TOWN has announced that young defender Christian Rowe has died after being involved in a traffic accident.
The National League South team released a statement announcing the news while paying tribute to the 19-year-old.
It read: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce the tragic passing of Christian Rowe.
“This news has left everyone involved at Academy23, Slough Town FC and Binfield FC devastated and heartbroken. Both clubs’ first-team and under-23 matches due to take place this weekend have been cancelled.
“Christian was considered one of the most promising young players in Slough Towns. And this season he has been a standout player for the Under-23s and has been involved in the first-team squad.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the parents, family, friends and teammates. We ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”

Tributes have poured in from the wider football community with several non-league clubs paying their respects.
Havant & Waterlooville wrote on Twitter: “Everyone at the club is shocked and saddened by the passing of former Hawks player Christian Rowe.
Our thoughts are with Christian’s friends and family at this terrible and difficult time.”
Similarly, Oxford City said: “Oxford City FC send our best wishes to the family and friends of Christian Rowe and everyone at Slough Town.”
Rowe recently went on trial at Burnley but did not win a contract with the Premier League club.
