Who was Mrs Mujinga?
Ms Mujinga, 47, died on 5 April 2020 with coronavirus after a 57-year-old customer, known only as AB, reportedly coughed and spat on her days earlier at London Victoria Station .
The alleged incident took place two days before the nationwide lockdown, and almost a week after the Prime Minister told the public to “stop non-essential contact and travel”.
But a pre-inquest hearing on Friday heard the 57-year-old male passenger’s behavior will not form part of the scope of Ms Mujinga’s death.
Both the Govia Thameslink Railway and the police have previously concluded that “no spitting incident took place”.
Family
Ms Mujinga’s husband, Lusamba Gode Katalay, and their daughter, Ingrid, were two of the 10 people allowed at her funeral due to coronavirus restrictions in place at the time.
Her death caused an avalanche of pain and a demand for answers about what happened.

Elaine Banton, from Ms. Mujinga’s family, responded: “Belly Mujinga was a disabled employee; opportunities to protect her may have been missed.”
Ms. Banton said that she understood that AB’s conduct was outside the scope of the investigation.
The coroner dismissed a request by the family to delay the investigation until the conclusion of the public Covid-19 inquest, on the basis that the hearings were unlikely to provide useful information in determining the circumstances of Ms Mujinga’s death. .
The next administrative hearing will take place on June 21 and the investigation itself is expected to resume on June 27 or be postponed until the winter.
Investigation
Senior Coroner Andrew Walker told the pre-investigation review that “there was no longer a need for AB to be part of the investigation.”
Instead, the investigation will focus on whether the married mother should have been protecting herself at the time, due to underlying health issues that her family said placed her in the ‘vulnerable’ category.
The investigation of her is expected to resume next month.Barnet Coroner’s Court has previously heard that the inquest is unlikely to find out how the infection occurred, but that it is possible to find out where Ms Mujinga became infected, possibly on her way to work or at work.
British Transport Police interviewed AB about the incident, but said there was insufficient evidence to prove a crime had been committed.
He subsequently returned a negative covid test, allegedly telling Ms. Mujinga that he was infected at the time of the confrontation.
