A grieving mother said her world was shattered after a suspected drug lord killed her “beautiful” daughter while on her way to a New Year’s Eve party.


Tragic 14-year-old Olivia Kolek was hit by a car while she was crossing a street shortly after her mother wished her a happy new year when she stopped by to see her at work.

The schoolgirl’s heartbroken mother, Izabela Maziakowska, told today how the death of Olivia, the unmarried girl, came just six days after the family had enjoyed a perfect Christmas.


Tearful Izabela said: “She was a lovely girl, always smiling, and I will miss everything about her.

“We spent Christmas together at home, it was perfect, it was our last Christmas, I can’t believe it.

“I am absolutely heartbroken. She was my whole world. I can no longer imagine life without her.


“I don’t know how I’m going to get up and get on with my life. It’s forever broken. ”

Post office attendant Izabela, 41, paid a touching tribute to her daughter after close friends tried to comfort her and hers husband Lukasz Kolek, 40.

The Polish couple had spent the holiday season with her daughter at her home, which the teenager helped decorate and where she baked Christmas cookies.

‘MY LIFE IS BROKEN FOREVER’

Olivia, who attended Ormiston Academy, was horribly killed by a gray Mercedes near Rowley Regis train station in Sandwell, West Midlands, just before 5.30pm yesterday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene on Station Road, but the teen was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, pulled over and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving under the influence of drugs.

He remains in police custody while officers investigate.

Izabela recounted the fateful night of her daughter to celebrate the New Year.

She explained, “He came to the Post Office where I worked to wish me a Happy New Year, I gave him some money and told him how to have fun and have fun.

“I think she was on the phone with a friend because one of her friends said later that she had heard a big explosion and someone called an ambulance.”

In a frantic and desperate attempt to find her daughter, Olivia’s father had gone out looking for her with two of her friends. both children.

Two other friends had stayed with her worried mother at home.

Izabela said: “My husband couldn’t find the last location of his phone, then he saw a police scene and there was a tent.

“Inside that tent there was a body, he didn’t know it was our daughter and he was thinking who is in that tent.

“He waited an hour, they didn’t let him in, and then he found out it was Olivia. She was dead. She saw her body. She was all covered in blood.”

Izabela cried: “I hope she has not suffered, I hope she left quickly. I can’t bear to think of her suffering from it. “
