Who was Paula Tabourel ?
Paula Tabourel passed away in her sleep of heart failure at her Perth home on Saturday night, aged 53.
The popular businesswoman owned the Cardo restaurant on the city’s South Street after bringing many other successful restaurants to the area.
She leaves behind her husband Herve and her children Max and Roxanne.
In a heartbreaking post on the restaurant’s Facebook page, Roxanne smashed tributes to her “amazing” mother.
She said: “As most of you already know, my mother Paula Tabourel, Cardo’s face passed away on Saturday November 20.
“My family and I want to thank you all for the incredible words of support from her and all the love we have received. It is a true testament to the incredible woman my mother was.
“The funeral has been arranged for Tuesday, December 7, which means that the restaurant will close on that day.

Death
Tributes have been paid to a ‘passionate’ Scots restaurant boss who died suddenly at the age of 53.
“Honestly, we would love for many of you to be there, to share our grief with us and pay your respects to the most incredible woman who ever lived. It would be a world for my father, my brother and me to see you all there.”
Now other tributes have arrived from all over the city and beyond.
One said: “The weekend broke our hearts to learn of Paula Tabourel’s passing. Paula and Herve have brought many successful restaurants to Perth over the years and have always had the magic touch, the most recent being Cardo.
“Paula – such a passionate, strong, independent, attractive and downright fabulous woman. Your passing highlights the vulnerability of all of us.

“Herve, along with you children, Max & Roxanne, we send you our love and strength to help you in this inconsolable time.

“Rest in peace Paula. Thinking of you will always bring you a smile. The world, but Perth especially, is certainly a smaller place without you in it.”
Another added: “Very good memories of Paula Tabourel who died at the weekend.
“A great character who always gave you a fabulous welcome.
“My prayers go out to Herve, Roxanne and Max. RIP”
And a third wrote: “Paula was so full of life, an amazing advocate for Perth and the hospitality industry, a warm and friendly woman and a passionate entrepreneur and businesswoman.
“Many of the restaurants we eat at today were designed and started by Paula and Hervé.
“I will really miss her warm welcome at the cafe, her friendly chats, her incredible service, her frank passion and her smile. She truly was a force of nature.”
Cardo Restaurant will close on the day of Paula’s funeral to allow for staff attendance, with a planned on-site viewing after the service.
Daughter
His daughter, Roxanne, took to the restaurant’s Facebook page to share the heartbreaking news with customers and the community.
It said: “As most of you already know, my mother Paula Tabourel, Cardo’s face passed away on Saturday November 20. My family and I want to thank you all for your incredible words of support and all the love I have received. true testimony of the incredible woman my mother was.
“I have tried to send a personal message to everyone to invite them to his funeral, however for those that I was unable to contact, please message me directly (Roxanne Tabourel) on Facebook if you would like to attend and I will share the details with you on private.
“Honestly, we would love for many of you to be there, to share our grief with us and pay your respects to the most amazing woman who ever lived. It would be a world for my father, my brother and me to see you all there.
