Who was Sergio Santay ?
A 34-year-old man was stabbed to death while Facetiming with his brother in a “random and unprovoked attack”.
Sergio Santay was stabbed in the neck by a stranger in broad daylight on Bonnie Brae Street in downtown Los Angeles last Friday.
He had been talking on the phone about his plans for the weekend when the brutal attack occurred.
Suspect
The suspect also attacked two other people and police launched a manhunt for the ‘armed and dangerous’ thug.
Security footage showed the attacker strolling down the sidewalk before launching his assault.
He approached Santay unarmed and plunged the knife into his neck before stabbing two other people.
Victim
The victim was rushed to a local hospital but doctors were unable to save him, while the other two victims are believed to be recovering.
Santay had been on Facetime with his brother discussing what he was going to do last weekend.
His mother told Fox 11 that she was struggling to understand why the killer would target her son at random.

Police launched a major manhunt for the vile thug, warning that he was “armed and dangerous,” but no arrests have been made.
The Los Angeles Police Department warned that the three attacks on April 8 were random and unprovoked.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black bucket hat, covered in marijuana leaves, a blue shirt and light blue shorts.
