Who was Timothy Ogden ?

Terrifying footage has revealed the moment two cars hurtled across the street in an illegal drag race in New Jersey, moments before striking and killing a man and a woman.

Driver Gerald J. White, 37, was charged in the deaths of Timothy Ogden, 34, and Lindsay Weakland, 18, when their 2004 Infinity crashed into a 2014 Honda Accord and then swerved into pedestrians during the event in Wildwood, New Jersey.

Shocking footage shows a vehicle speeding out of an intersection before being hit by another car and crashing into a golf cart-type vehicle.

Weakland was one of the pedestrians White rammed into, according to local reports. She was pronounced dead at the scene, though cops had trouble getting there as dozens of attendees blocked her car.

It is understood that Ogden was a passenger in the Honda Civic that White crashed into. He was transported to a hospital after the collision, but later died from his injuries.

Gerald J. White of Pittsburgh Arrested

Gerald J. White of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged in the deaths of two people after he drove recklessly and crashed at an illegal car rally in New Jersey.

Timothy Ogden, 34, was killed when White’s car crashed into the Honda Civic in which Ogden was a passenger, and he died of his injuries at a hospital.
Lindsay Weakland, 18, was a pedestrian near the car rally, but she was killed suddenly when White’s car swerved into spectators.

It’s unclear if others were seriously injured, and prosecutors have indicated additional charges may be brought against White. The two slain victims were reportedly not in Wildwood to attend the illegal car event.

White, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, also tried to flee the scene, but was quickly apprehended by police.

He was charged with two counts of carjacking, evasion, leaving the scene of an accident and violation of laws to protect public safety. He is being held at the Cape May County Correctional Center.

The pop-up car rally, organized by H20i, said “hundreds if not thousands of people driving performance vehicles into an area without any planning, staging or permission created the chaos that led to these deaths and injuries.” Cape May District Attorney Jeffrey said. Sutherland.

The videos depicted a number of reckless behaviors by high-powered car drivers, including exhaustion, racing at high speeds without heeding traffic laws, and donuts.

The result, along with the two fatalities caused by White’s driving, were masses of cars crashing into storefronts, parking meters and each other, leaving authorities with a massive cleanup.

A witness who saw the fatal crash said White’s vehicle was going “like 80 miles per hour” and “went through four red lights.”

Olivia Galing of Rahway told NJ.com ‘we just heard a big bang, like a loud crash, and everybody started running, so we went down to the corner and saw the car on the curb and they already had a sheet. ‘

“There were so many people lining up on the side of the road. The kids were standing in the middle of the street on the yellow lines recording things. So it was going to happen that someone was going to get hurt,” she added.

Statement

“The Governor is saddened by the senseless damage and harm that has occurred in Wildwood as a result of this event,” Murphy spokeswoman Christi Peace said in a statement to NJ Advance Media.

Wildwood authorities were aware of the meeting before it took place and issued a statement saying “all visitors to the Wildwoods are welcome and expected to obey all ordinances and laws while visiting.”

But local police were quickly overwhelmed by large crowds displaying raucous behavior, Wildwood Mayor Pete Byron said.

“The game plan didn’t anticipate the number of people that came down, which was in the thousands,” Byron said.

“That game plan went out the window on day two, when the number of people who were here vastly exceeded the number projected by the state police,” he continued.

The deaths apparently forced H2oi’s organizers to reconsider their activities, as their Facebook page now shows that all administrators have left the group and an ominous message has been posted in the “about” section.

“H2oi will never be the same again,” the updated about me section said. ‘Even if all the show-kids [intruders] stop coming, the laws they put in place for car modification will never go away. It’s time to move.’

The gathering has reportedly been around since the late 1990s, but rising crowds and more diligent authorities may leave the organization with no choice but to stop.

Last week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released data showing that 20,175 people were killed in car crashes in the first half of 2022, a 0.5 percent increase from the first half of 2021.
