53-year-old Brazilian bodybuilder Andréa Sunshine is a personal trainer, athlete, and an inspiration for many.

Age is no bar to fitness, if one follows a sincere routine. Andréa, who shares her daily progress and tips on Instagram, swears by this secret shake to lose weight and delay ageing.

She explained: “Carrots, celery, ginger, parsley and oranges. Place all items in a juicer and consume on an empty stomach 30 minutes before breakfast.”

Each ingredient tackles and targets specific health needs. Celery, for example, is a great source of antioxidants like Vitamin C, which are anti-inflammatory and strengthen your digestive system.

Similarly, parsley, a medicinal plant rich in antioxidants, supports bone health and aids digestion.

“Ginger, on the other hand, is an edible root that, when added to the diet, can bring many health benefits, from helping to lose weight to treating poor digestion,” Andréa explains. It also prevents everyday nausea and helps lower blood sugar.

A treasure trove of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, carrots have often been elevated to the status of a ‘super food’ by nutritionists.

The root vegetable is especially beneficial for weight-loss, as well as lowering cholestrol levels.

“Carrot is a root that brings health benefits, such as preventing aging, cancer, protecting vision and maintaining tan,” the Brazilian bodybuilder added.

And finally, rich in fibre and Vitamic C, oranges are great for hydration and a favourite among gym goers.

With summer just on the horizon, it might be well worth your time to give this healthy, nutrient-rich shake a try.
