In 1999, when Stephen Lepore was diagnosed with autism at just two years old, doctors told his parents that he would never speak.

Not only did he prove them wrong, but he went on to start his own business called Mr. Hollywood Soaps.

For the past two years, Lepore has been making all different kinds of soaps, including autism ducks, regular ducks, Jurassic Park, mermaids, and more. All soaps, fragrances and labels can be custom-made to your liking, for all different occasions or recipients.

Many people have purchased them and absolutely love his creative soaps.

Not only does making soaps keep Lepore busy, but it also helps him learn life skills.

“Stephen couldn’t tie his shoes up until he was 22 years old,” Lepore’s mom told ABC 10 News. “No matter how we taught him, you know how he learned? Tying those soap bags over and over and over he finally learned to tie his shoes.”

Lepore donates part of the proceeds to the Special Olympics, which holds a special place in his heart.

Growing up, Lepore’s parents put him in a lot of extra-curricular activities such as acting classes, surfing, and sports, in order to help him socialize and break out of his shell.

In 2019, Lepore won a gold medal for golf in the 2019 State Special Olympics.

Lepore also donates some of his soaps to other local causes and hopes he will inspire others like him.
