In 2016, a judge granted Cosby a temporary protective order after she expressed concerns about being alone with Baker due to instances of domestic violence. According to court records, Cosby asked the court to order Baker to stay 500 yards away from her, enroll in a batterer’s intervention program, and vacate their family home in Newnan, Georgia.

On April 20, 2018, a private process server delivered divorce papers to Baker at his Lantana Way residence. Although Baker had filed for divorce on January 3, 2017, it was later dismissed. Cosby claimed that Baker committed acts of family violence against her and their children on or around March 29, 2016. Zeph Baker Arrested And Charges

According to authorities, a previously well-known candidate, Zeph who ran for office in Georgia was detained on Saturday and is now facing many criminal charges outside of Cobb County.[1]

Zephaniah Baker, a former candidate for mayor of Columbus, Georgia, who had previously run for office several times, was apprehended by deputies in Muscogee County.

The former candidate was arrested after a warrant was issued in Cobb County for kidnapping, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, all crimes.

Additionally, Baker is accused of two misdemeanors: third-degree child maltreatment and battery (domestic violence).

According to deputies, Baker was apprehended just before 1 am on Saturday by the US Marshals and the Drug, Gang, and Fugitive Unit of the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.

Baker’s charges have not yet been given more information. It is unknown when the former mayor candidate will be extradited to Cobb County after being placed in the Muscogee County Jail.[2]
