Yesterday was a special day. La La Anthony and Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan, celebrated his fifteenth birthday. Kiyan’s mom took to Instagram with a special message to her son.
“HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY to my son @kiyananthony,” La La wrote to Kiyan. “I always say I was blessed to have a son and a best friend wrapped in one,” the celebrity mom doted. “You have given my life a deeper meaning and purpose,” Anthony told her son. “I will always support you and I’m forever your #1 fan. Mom loves you more than words could ever explain.”
Kiyan Anthony has grown up in the spotlight. It was just a few weeks ago that the teen appealed to his mom to let him get a tattoo for his sixteenth birthday.
“Do y’all think I should be able to get a tattoo for my 16th birthday,” Kiyan asked social media fans in a video clip. “Let me know in the comments,” the teen told his mom’s subscribers. La La was certainly not onboard with the idea of her son getting a tattoo at 16-years-old.
“You haven’t even turned 15 yet,” La La told her son. “No, you have lost your mind,” Anthony continued. “What 16 year old has a tattoo,” the celebrity mom asked. “No, you are not [getting a tattoo],” La La Anthony declared to her son. “[You can get a] tattoo when you turn 21. Honestly, maybe 18.”

La La later had a moment of honesty with her Instagram fans about the matter. “So I did get my first tattoo at 15/16 years old but that first one I regretted so bad,” Anthony told her supporters. “Funny how when you have a kid the same things happen all over again,” the celebrity mom reflected. “But I do think 16 is too young for @kiyananthony,” La La said.
Several fans agreed that Kiyan should wait for adulthood to get a tattoo. “Wait on it Nephew,” Dwyane Wade said in the comments section of the Instagram post. “Plenty of time,” the retired NBA player added. Jennifer Hudson answered with one word: “No.”
Kiyan Anthony is La La Anthony and Carmelo Anthony’s only child.
